A post-apocalyptic adventure game set in the neo-west.
One Last Sunset was an adventure-RPG game set in a post-apocalyptic Wild West. It mixed traditional point-and-click mechanics with gun-fights and RPG-ish problem-solving.
After a heist large enough to retire off of, Mara was betrayed by her partner in crime, Belt, and was poisoned. Now she has a 13-hour window to find and kill Belt and, perhaps, see one last sunset.
Our goal was to create a game that gave the RPG experience within a playtime that was accessible to those who couldn’t throw 70+ hours at the heavy-hitters of the genre. It was inspired by Fallout 1 and 2, Mad Max, Muscle cars, desert plains, the old American West and our travels in South East Asia.
When the artist moved onto other things we put the project on hold and, not finding a suitable replacement for him, we never got back to it. We did pen a tabletop RPG for it, but it, too, lies artless and unpublished.
Some things aren’t meant to be!
